CANARIAS BREW
Just steps from La Chispa, this craft brewery is the perfect spot for hop lovers. A charming corner, ideal for ending the day with a pint in hand. Tip: From its terrace, you can see "the endless street" and the smallest street in the city.
CHURRERÍA MONTESOL
Very close to the hostel is the Montesol churro shop, a classic that has stood the test of time. Freshly made churros that smell like morning and taste like childhood. Served with chocolate, if you want to do it right. Ideal for starting the day with energy or treating yourself after a walk. Tip: There's an unwritten rule: a long night of partying ends with churros and the sunrise.
PARQUE ROMANO
A track winding through palm and flamboyant trees, open year-round, for all paces. Each lap is 1km, with markers every 100 meters. A place where motivation is contagious. Tip: Warm up in the gardens of the Hotel Santa Catalina, next to the Atis Tirma monument, dedicated to those who chose freedom to the very end. Connect with that energy and then go for a run!
PECADO IBÉRICO
Pleasure isn't shared. It's devoured. Iberian ham, aged cheeses, characterful wines, a space with a vintage soul and plenty of flavor—our neighbors, temptation right on the same street. Tip: Don't leave without trying their house-made vermouth. It's called Lujuria (Lust), and that's no coincidence.
BARRIO MARINERO DE SAN CRISTÓBAL
Cycle south from San Telmo Park along the Avenida Marítima bike path and, after 3 km, you'll reach the picturesque fishing district of San Cristóbal. Its colorful houses and the historic tower, built to watch for pirates, will transport you back in time. Recharge your batteries at one of its local restaurants.
Tip: Continua 2 Km más y refréscate en las piscinas naturales o en la Playa de la Laja.
PLAZA DE LAGUNETAS
Discover it: Hidden away in the heart of the Triana neighborhood is a charming little square, perfect for unwinding and spending time with friends. Besides tapas and beers, a feminist mural awaits, inspiring and radiating positive energy. Tip: The food at "La Travesía de Triana" is fantastic, and we love the atmosphere at "La Gamba."
COOL BEANS
You'll surely be exploring the historic Vegueta district, and if you fancy a break, be sure to visit Cool Beans, a small coworking café where you can relax, have a drink, or work quietly in a creative atmosphere. Tip: Don't miss their specialty coffee.
LAMBADA RECORDS BAR
A true gem in the other heart of the capital. In the picturesque Plaza del Bolas, this bar-vermouth bar-record shop, which also serves delicious specialty coffee, offers a selection of the finest music released on vinyl. The energy of the place, the music, and the wonderful team behind it will make you want to return. Tip: if you order a vermouth, ask them to bring you a gilda—a typical pintxo to accompany the aperitif—they make them absolutely fantastic.
EL TRIÁNGULO DE LAS BERMUDAS: GUINCHO-TIMBEQUE-BOTE
Three classic bars, a meeting point for old and new generations of students. The atmosphere is relaxed, witty, and diverse: here you can talk about anything, eat well, and drink cheaply. If you're looking for an authentic and alternative spot, this triangle never disappoints. Tip: El Bote is the first to close, and both El Guincho and El Timbeque stay open until 3:30 a.m.
LA BARRA DE LAS CANTERAS
At low tide, swim out to the natural sandbar and discover a different view of the beach. Bring your snorkeling gear and explore a veritable open-air aquarium. Considered one of the best beaches in Europe, Las Canteras offers much more than sand and sun, making it ideal for a wide variety of sports. Tip: Hike the Confital trail, the wildest and most scenic side of the beach.
SALA FARO
This live music venue has become a cultural landmark thanks to its commitment to stylistic diversity and its bold programming. They started out in an industrial park but now operate in the Los Nidillos area, very close to La Puntilla, in a space with sea views and an open-minded, prejudice-free spirit.
Tip: Nelson, one of the managers along with Inoa, loves to play the piano. If there's a free moment and you ask him politely, he'll sit down and delight the staff with a bolero or something of his own composition.
MERCADO DE VEGUETA
In the heart of the city's old town, the Vegueta Market has been offering local and seasonal produce for over 160 years. Fruits, vegetables, cheeses, fresh fish, spices—it's an authentic place steeped in history, where locals and visitors alike come to do their shopping every day. Tip: Don't feel like cooking? Order a cheese board at Aragüeme and pair it with a Canarian wine at Canary Wine. You can enjoy it right there in the market.
EL CAAM. CENTRO ATLÁNTICO DE ARTE MODERNO
With a neoclassical facade and modern interior, the CAAM is the most prominent contemporary art museum in Las Palmas, with free admission to temporary exhibitions.
Tip: Follow in the footsteps of Martín Chirino, its founder. In addition to the CAAM, the city has a museum dedicated exclusively to his work (Castillo de la Luz) and several of his sculptures can be seen throughout the city.
