ABOUT US

At La Chispa we love diversity and that's what we are, a diverse space that integrates a hostel, an urban youth hostel and a kiosk-café where we want to give rise to cultural and social encounters and events so that both guests and local people make this place one of their favorite spaces.

The building we're in has a long and rich history. Originally a boarding house—primarily for people traveling from rural areas to the city for official business—it later became the headquarters of the Center for Canarian Popular Culture. Among its many activities, it hosted rehearsals for the music group Mestisay. All that history remains within the walls of this now revitalized space, whose restoration was carried out by the prestigious and award-winning architecture firm X Studio.

Now its interior exudes minimalism and organic aromas, respecting its original essence and charm. We want you to feel, upon entering La Chispa, our love for all forms of art; for delicious local products; for our community and island culture; for friendship and the desire for adventure; and to leave filled with inspiration and eager to continue getting to know us so we can make this planet a better place.

“THE ONLY WAY TO COMPETE WITH NEW YORK AND MANHATHAN IS A LITTLE COUNTRY HOUSE I SAW IN THE OLD TOWN, WITH A CANARY ISLAND PATIO FULL OF POETRY AND BEAUTY”
